School Council

Welcome to our School Council Blog! Take a look at the latest updates below…

We are the School Councillors and we are actively involved in making decisions in school. We represent the ‘pupil voice’ of Clarendon. Our recent journey we have begun, in becoming a rights respecting school, has made us more aware of children’s rights, including the right to have our opinions taken into account in decisions that concern us. Our school council meets fortnightly with Mrs Cairns as facilitator. Annually two representatives are elected by each class and a chair person, vice chair, secretary and treasurer are voted into their role. As councillors we share ideas, interests and concerns with teachers and school leaders. We often help raise funds for school activities, including social events as well as helping people in need and supporting school.

So far this year, we have raised lots of money for charity. We have organised ‘Children in Need’ with the whole school where we had a day of fun activities, a colouring competition and we came to school in pyjamas. We raised a staggering £401.30.
