Science

History: World War 2 in Bolton

(continued from Spring)

World War 2 began in 1939 and cost more than 50 million lives across the world. We will look at the role that Bolton, and England, had during the war, and the impact the war had on people’s lives. We will consider the lives of evacuees, the impact of rationing, and the air raid on Bolton in 1941.

Light

(continued from Spring)

We will be investigating the way that light travels from different light sources, including how objects are seen. We will explore how different shadows are formed and how they link to the object creating them. Furthermore, we will use different tools to change the direction of light and learn about the spectrum of colours that create white light.

Geography: Our Future World

We will be using a variety of map and fieldwork skills to analyse different land uses and how the world has already changed. Linking these changes to different physical and human features, we will begin to draw conclusions about the impact humans have on the Earth. We will link this knowledge to out previous topic about saving the Earth, to predict what our planet might be like in the future.

The Human Body

We will be learning about the circulatory system of the human body, and the role of different organs. We will be discussing the impact of lifestyle on the way our bodies work, and how these choices can impact our health.
