CRE8

CRE8 enrichment is one part of the trilogy within ‘life skills’ offered throughout the year across school. It’s a super environment to get our creative juices flowing in a purpose built cabin within the school grounds.

Each child takes part in a carefully planned art project developing a wealth of art skills. The CRE8 lead works with classes to link her projects, where possible, to the National Curriculum themes in school, learning new skills with challenges along the way.  This creates a fun session where the children are encouraged to take risks in a safe and structured environment.

We are truly blessed to have a designated space specifically to teach art – our cabin – that makes the experience special, listening to music and surrounded by wonderful creations that have been made by the children overtime.

Did you know our cupboards are overflowing with so many different resources and materials, with individual class projects catered for? The children feel it’s an Aladdin’s Cave of goodies and often feel it’s like looking in the window of their favourite sweetie shop! What we offer knocks spots off just cutting, sticking and colouring in-between the lines!

Groups of 4 children spend a day working with the CRE8 lead and their friends, learning about their art project and the necessary skills needed to meet their goal. The children are given the opportunity to take home their hand made creations – many wanting to replicate their new skills at home with their families.

Welcome to our CRE8 Blog! Take a look at the latest updates below…

Clarendon took part in a community project with the rest of the schools in our cluster. We had to design our own interpretation of ‘Happiness in the Home’. The final products were displayed on the Town Hall in Bolton as part of the Bolton Light Festival. They were superimposed using light and technology.
