Welcome to the Year 5 blog! What an exciting year ahead we have! Please read the important information on this page and click on the news post at the bottom of the page to see our wonderful learning activities and experiences.
School uniform
Please ensure your child wears full school uniform now including black shoes. Children must bring their PE kit to school on a Monday (indoor and outdoor kit). Hi-Viz jackets MUST be worn every day as part of our school uniform. Buy one at the office if your child does not have one. Hi-Viz jacket, water bottles and book bags with their diary and reading book should be brought to school every day.
Homework: Friday
All homework will be checked on Monday. Children are expected to complete maths and grammar on Mirodo, learn their spellings on spelling shed, read three times a week and record this in their diary using the sentence stems in their diary.
Spelling test: Monday
Please make sure your child learns their spellings each week using spelling shed.
Hometime
If you would like your child to walk home alone, please complete the parent permission form on the Parentsapp.
Ensure you are checking the parentapp regularly for the latest school updates.

Our class charity is:
Centrepoint is a UK charity that supports young people aged 16-25 who are experiencing or are at risk of homelessness by providing them with accommodation, health, learning, housing, and employment support. Founded in 1969 in London’s Soho, the charity runs accommodation services and offers advice through helplines to help young people gain independence and end the cycle of homelessness. Centrepoint also campaigns to end youth homelessness entirely by 2037 and partners with organizations across the country to prevent homelessness among younger individuals.
