Roles and Responsibilities

  • Distribute National Online Safety posters around the school
  • Speak to parents at parent workshops
  • Assist with organising Safer Internet Day

Speak to children in school about:

  • New apps, games and websites
  • How to use devices safely
  • Online bullying and cyberbullying
  • Privacy and security online and with technology
  • The possible dangers of technology

Online Safety Assemblies

On the 29th January, the Digital Leaders led an assembly. It informed the children about the upcoming Safer Internet Day. Here are some of the key points from the assembly.

  • Over 170 countries celebrate Safer Internet Day
  • It is a chance to think about any worries we might have about using technology
  • Over half the children in the UK celebrate Safer Internet Day

To be safe online, we should:

  • Talk to a trusted adult
  • Ask before we download something
  • Tell someone about the things we see online, especially if we are worried or upset
  • Block and report
