Reading is a huge priority at Clarendon. We encourage children to read and establish a love of reading, not only in school but at home too. The Clarendon Reading Challenge is one way of celebrating and recognising all of the books that our children have read in their academic year. We have many books in classes, often selected by our children, which our children read at any given opportunity. Each of our children has a Clarendon Reading Challenge Card and have it stamped every time they complete a book. The children are rewarded when they can confidently talk about and show their comprehension of reading 9 (Bronze), 17 (Silver) & 28 (Gold) books. Any books that we don’t have in school can be requested by the children. All of our children are members of Bolton Library too.
